Questions about bookkeeping or using Pandle are our bread and butter. Although if you’re in the middle of a pub quiz and need some help with Kardashian trivia or the merits of various rock drummers, we can probably have a bash at that too.

In short, yes. Anyone can ask a question – we won’t shout at you. We usually hear from people who are just getting started with their new limited company or they’re about to become a sole trader.
The team can also help established businesses looking to switch to a new bookkeeping system, or accountants who are interested in using Pandle with their clients.
You can find all sorts of articles, videos, and infographics in our blog, helping you find answers to any questions you have about starting and running a business, and managing your bookkeeping and accounts.
There are additional guides to download and treasure in our resource centre.
The Pandle Help Centre has information about using Pandle to complete your bookkeeping (or you can just ask us).
BOOKKEEPING
You’ll need to keep a record of every transaction which happens in your business, or which you expect to happen.
For example, some transactions you’ll enter into your bookkeeping as they happen – such as invoices that you send to your clients. Others are things you might enter in advance, such as the amount you expect to pay an employee each month. You can also use your bookkeeping to account for the depreciation of an asset – which is handy for reducing your tax bill!
Learn more about keeping good bookkeeping records in our blog.
Limited companies are required to use ‘double-entry bookkeeping’, which is a way of showing in your accounts that an exchange of some sort has taken place. Sole traders don’t have to use this system, but it’s good practice to – it makes it much easier to make sure your bookkeeping is correct!
It’s not a legal requirement, although some businesses do need to keep digital records in some shape or form so they can satisfy the rules for Making Tax Digital.
That said, it does usually make life much easier if you get used to using accounting software for your business because of the time it will help you save. There are lots of different providers to choose from. Pandle is our favourite though, obvs.
Any questions you submit will be reviewed by our Live Chat team of trained bookkeepers. They’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
Pandle Pro users can talk to our Live Chat team Monday – Friday, from 9am until 5pm.
